Rainer Kunstfeld earned his medical degree at the Medical University of Vienna in 1987 where he also pursued his education in Dermatology and Venerology. He worked two years in the research laboratory at Department of Dermatology, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Back in Vienna Dr Kunstfeld established the Non Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) study team at the Medical University of Vienna focusing on the treatment of Actinic Keratosis and Basal Cell Carcinoma.
Dr Kunstfeld published numerous scientific articles focusing on the treatment of NMSC and received several research awards
He served as the Secretary General of the “7th World Congress on Melanoma” in Vienna (2009) and as the Secretary of the “Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venerology” (2005 – 2008).
Currently he is the medical director of the “Dermatologikum Wien”
